Interested in Playing More or at a Higher Level?
If your child is looking to play more lacrosse or compete at a higher level than our town program offers, this page outlines some of the available options. Each family should carefully consider whether a club program is the right fit. Key factors to evaluate include the club’s mission, level of play, commitment expectations, costs, and the quality of coaching.
Most club teams participate in tournaments, typically offering multiple games over a day or weekend. Many tournaments involve out-of-state travel and can range from highly competitive to tiered formats based on skill levels. Club teams may group players by grade or by age, depending on the tournament structure. Some clubs require tryouts, while others accept players based on registration and payment.
Swampscott Youth Lacrosse supports players who want to put in extra work through club programs — but never at the expense of their town season and league commitments. Most clubs respect and encourage participation in town lacrosse during the spring season. However, missing town practices and games for club activities may impact your child’s playing time.
